Session 1

Treatment Planning protocols for lifelong implants


Nick Fahey

M.Clin.Dent, MRD RCS(Ed), FRACDS and MFDS RCS (Eng.)

After many years working in Devonshire Place and Harley Street, Nick now works solely in Woodborough House, his referral practice in West Berkshire. Nick works as a specialist prosthodontist and as such, accepts referrals related to prosthodontics, as well as having a special interest in all aspects of dental implantology.

Nick’s areas of professional interest include all aspects of dentistry related to dental implants and fixed and removable prosthodontics. Of particular interest has been his involvement in all aspects of digital dentistry. As a pioneer in computer guided surgery, Nick has taught a generation of Dentists about guided surgery and has been a KOL in this field for many companies. He is particularly interested in all aspects of computer-guided surgery and guided surgical navigation for simplification of surgical placement of dental implants. Of recent interest is the amalgamation of 3D facial scanning and real time jaw movements into the implant planning process for complex cases.

Nick enjoys membership of the ADI and fellowship of the ITI, where he is also a study club director and mentor. He has presided over the London Dental Study Club and was a founding member of the New Zealand Dental Society of London. Nick is also a serving committee member and twice past president of the Reading Branch of the BDA for 2012 and 2018.

Nick has lectured, world-wide on topics such as computer guided surgery and virtual implant planning and currently has a book titled “Guided Surgery – Making Implant Placement Simpler” in publication for release early this year.

Fazeela Khan-Osborne

MSc (Lon) BDS, LDS, RCS(Eng)BSc(Hons)Dip Imp Dent (RCS.Eng) Adv Cert (RCS. Eng) DRDP FCOI

Fazeela is the founding clinician of the FACE implant multi-disciplinary team both on the surgical and restorative side for One To One Dental Clinic based in Harley Street, London. After qualification, Fazeela held several surgical posts in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery before studying for an MSc in Restorative Dentistry/ Gerodontics, which she received with Distinction.

She has always had a passion and special interest in Implant Dentistry: both on the surgical and restorative full arch rehabilitation of the maxilla. In addition, she has been involved in developing treatment modalities for Peri-implantations within clinical practice. Fazeela is currently the Course Lead for PG Diploma In Implant Dentistry for One To One Education Programme, now in its 20th year.

A former Lead Tutor and Assessor for the Royal College of Surgeons (Diploma In Implant Dentistry) and accredited Mentor; she lectures worldwide on Implant Dentistry and is an active member of the ADI, BAAD, ICOI. With Prof Marcus Abboud on the Post-graduate Implant Programme at Stonybrook University (USA) running a joint programme in Muco-gingival surgery for Implant Dentistry with Prof Cristian Dinu (Romania); and twinning the Advanced Implant Dentistry programme with Dr Howie Gluckman in Cape Town (South Africa).

Session 3

Treatment options for longstanding success in full arch implant reconstruction


Pynadath George

BDS, MFDS, MSc Rest Dent, MSc Implant, DClin Dent Oral Surg

Pynadath George has a practice limited to advanced restorative dentistry and complex dental implants. He is a graduate of Liverpool Dental School and since then has completed the membership exams from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Throughout his career, Pynadath has completed a Masters Degree in Restorative Dentistry from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute, UCL and a separate Master’s degree in Dental Implants from Warwick University. He has also completed specialist training and a Doctorate in Oral Surgery.

Dr George has taught Restorative Dentistry and Dental Implants in Liverpool University Dental School to Undergraduate students and Specialist trainees. In addition, he has worked in a tertiary district hospital treating cancer patients for removable and fixed Prosthodontics.

His scope of practice involves advanced bone and soft tissue grafting to complex full arch cases involving pterygoid and zygomatic implants.

Disasters from the masters – the clinical challenges and discoveries learned through experience


Sami Stagnell

Specialist Oral Surgeon BDS MFDS (RCSEd) MSc MFGDP (UK) AKC MOralSurg (RCSEng|Ed) AFFMLM

Mr Sami Stagnell is a GDC registered Specialist Oral Surgeon. Graduating from Kings College London Dental Institute in 2009, he has since worked in practices across the South of England and currently runs a specialist referrals practice in Bournemouth, supporting both NHS and private patients and enjoying a consultancy role at East Surrey Hospital.

Sami gained his specialist diploma in 2016 with Royal Colleges of Edinburgh and England. Following specialist training, he was awarded one of the first UK posts as a Fellow in Clinical Leadership and Management with Health Education England, supporting national healthcare projects.

In 2015 and 2018, Sami completed a Masters degree with Kings College London and the University of Manchester and is currently completing an MSc in implantology with the University of Madrid. He is an active member of many societies and represents the profession with the British Dental Association, College of General Dentistry and Royal Society of medicine.

In 2018, Sami was selected by the ITI to complete an international scholarship at a leading EU Implant Centre. He has spent a year at the Medical University Graz in Austria, where he further developed his expertise in Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry as well as being actively involved in research and teaching.
